    • Hi Martin,

You will be pleased to know the weather is warming up nicely here in Turkey, 29c today will be 35c when you reach here in 3 weeks time, sounds like a great trip.

      Cheers

      Dave..

  2. Ok dave thanks for your reply any advise for the journey? just also had the welder out and made a bracket for rear top box. need to fit 12 volt charger socket, maybe two . Why did you change rear sprocket? i have also this summer bought an apartment in akbuk.near didim.

    • Hi Martin,

We had a trip to Didim last year, I liked it up there, we went to the Apollo Temple……Petrol cost is 40% higher in Turkey than UK, by changing the rear sprocket to a smaller one the engine turns less revs at cruising speed thus saving petrol for the same speed over distance, its 3 Lira a litre here at the moment.

Advice on Turkey….drink plenty of water or the heat will get you, WATCH YOUR SPEED its 70kph here for bikes and on the spot fines, you can crank it up in between the towns and citys but watch your speed on the outskirts of towns. Be carefull in Istanbull but the rest of Turkey is great, very easy going as I’m sure you know, if your passing through Italy watch out for theft and chain your bike to something solid if you leave it to go sight seeing……..might see you on the road Martin, we leave UK around 20th May heading down to Morroco then back to Turkey via Italy.

      Cheers

      Dave..
