Our farm hand Oochie (Spelling) has been a great help, work on clearing the land has really speeded along, today we started on the barn and stables, at the moment Linda plans on getting some chickens and perhaps a goat!! The barn of course has its fair share of rubbish around also, a horse and cart is 5 lev a day (2 GBP) on top of normal day rates, so to Hell with the expense…I hired Pepper and cart!!

Pepper was an instant hit with Linda, all I heard for the whole day was ”Aahh, cute…Can I have one, can I have one, can I have one.”

The lean-too constructions on the barn were dismantled, more free fire wood, I spotted an old wooden pitchfork wedged in the rafters, so sent Linda up there to retrieve it. These old farming implements can make nice pieces of decoration in the right setting, in the right house.

Shifting the tones of Hay/straw/crap looked like a mammoth task untill Oochie told us how much this stuff was worth….We immediatly stopped burning it and sorted all the Hay/straw/crap into its different types!!….I’m reminded of the old Yorkshire proverb ”Where there’s muck, there’s brass.”

The stables and chicken coops also got cleaned out.
