LOL..Your vids always give me a little cheer on the night shift, very picturesque country. I’ve seen that kind of hair on the telly, all the rage here at the moment, your obviously a style icon Dave lol.

  Yes very pretty country Turkey, going to get a hair cut next week, I had no idea what my hair looked like after riding along until I saw the video…I must have looked a real sight going shopping lol…going to wear a helmet now till my hairs cut!!

  I actually feel a little sorry for the Greek people, nobody likes paying tax (Me included) and the Turkish tax system does have some similarities to Greece, to suddenly change over to a ”No escape” Western tax system will be really hard, hope that doesn’t happen here!!

I think its called JEDWARD hair, after the popular and annoying singers lol….I’d stick with BOND if I were you mate!!

It looked good having the camera between the handlebars instead of just road, did you mount the camera or just hold it whilst riding along??

  Yes I liked having some of the bike in the shot while riding along also, its much more natural and real rather than just road…I just held the camera as best as I could, I could do with some kind of small tank bag, or pouch, or something that I could just drop the camera in to when I suddenly need both hands on the bars.
  
  Yes I saw those Jedward boys on Big Brother, very annoying if your over 12 years old lol.

Good to see you out and about again….I was beginning to think you’d moved to Bulgaria or somewhere cheaper !!!
Finally sold Tigger, some nice chap came down from Jockland and paid me what I wanted for him….well happy.

I hear your coming via Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria this time, dont forget to go in a supermarket and price up stuff, or is it going to be the Nomadic lifestyle in Morocco for you and Auntie Bev.
  
  Dont know what all this fuss is about, it does have a back brake too ya know…..Both front and rear brakes come as standard on all Chinese bikes now, did your Tiger have a back brake??….Thought not lol.. 🙂

Thinking of making a camera mount from fridge magnets to sit on top of the petrol tank.

It won’t effect the SD cards……..unsure about cameras,auto focus mechanism etc……..Uncle Bob is the camera expert.

P.S It’s not the grey skies……it’s Bev’s Mam, she’s looking after me too well !!
I suppose I’ll have to draw myself away from it soon !!

all this talk of food, esp since Ian is the gourmet chef. Don’t think the magnetic fields will affect the camera, at least not the small force of the fridge magnets. As Ian said, stronger ones may not be good for the autofocus mechanism

Ian: when are you going to arrive ? or have you diverted to Spain with all the other Expats ?

  Talking of yummy food Bob….Since I had my tooth out the other week I can eat Chocolate again, biscuts dipped in tea, and anything cold. Soon as Ian’s van gets here laden with goodies from England, Linda and I are going to raid their secret supply of Hobb Knobbs and chocie bars….we’ll distract him with a kebab while the raid takes place…Sshhh!!!

I’m guessing that the little motors which move the lens back and forth to focus have permanent magnets, as well as a wound armature. If the polarity of the magnet is reversed and held to close to the motor magnets, it might make them less magnetic over time. Just an educated guess but no use having to purchase another Chinese Camera with a Canon decal plastered on the front

  A dozen or more fridge magnets sticky taped together could probably provide enough magnetic forces to alter the moon and tides as well as overwhelm my superior quality Chinese electric motors….Hmmm bit more thinking perhaps!!

  Pink knitted tank cover…Black might match better lol….Poor bike is in dry dock at the sani for a few days now, chappie made a new oil res. window and seal from a penny and epoxy, front brake works again now, but when he had the starter motor in bits it wouldn’t work again after, some little part broke and he has to order it….It was a bloody long walk from the sani to home this afternoon lol.

  Monties all fixed up now, got him back after his 4 day holiday in the sani waiting for spare part…….New starter motor spinning thing, front brake repaired, new brake fluid,oil changed, missing bolts replaced, 2 hours mechanic money etc….Good as new 50 Lira (30 USD) I had forgotten how these Chinese bikes are just so cheap to maintain!!

  One of the chaps in our riding group has a 650 v strom and has problems after the last trip, when he changes gear at higher speeds the engine cuts out (Only at higher speeds, slow is no problem) and his gear box gets really tight when the engines hot. I thought that perhaps you might belong to some v strom sites or might suspect yourself what the problem(S) might be….I’M guessing the engine management computer and perhaps a bearing in the gearbox…You got any ideas??
  
  The other bike on the 6 day trip that had problems was a BMW F650, but thats normal for them, but not for a Suzuki they are normally bullet proof. At first they wondered if it was either dirty petrol or the altitude (2000m) but a third fuel injected bike on the trip had no problems at all Pegaso 650. The engine cut out problem changing gear on the vstrom persisted when back down to sea level, so not an altitude issue, gearbox getting tight when hot would be a bearing on the way out I would guess, what do you think??

Perhaps you are right about the gears binding. Was the bike previously DROPPED ? or was the shifter bent ?

stromtrooper.com you could post the symptoms there and get a quick answer. On m/c forums I use another name (bESS: stands for BS – bobskoot). I am sure you will get an answer there

  Yes the bikes had a few previous owners and looks as though it has been dropped in the past, also I thought after I wrote to you that it is unfortunately very normal practice here to not change the oil, this would of course reduce the life of bearings considerably.

  Yeah, I read about three hours worth of engine problems on the Stromtrooper website you mentioned, its all just normal fuel injection problems you get with any EFI engine that the systems get with age/dust/muck/heat, I came across the exact same problems word for word on the website…The EFI sensors need cleaning/inspecting, they only seem to act up on long trips when everything gets hot or evenly hot after several hours prolonged use, I relayed all what I found out back to the chaps…..But, rather than pay a mechanic to clean/inspect all the EFI sensors, the solution they opted for was to not make long trips and stop more often to let everything cool down.
  
  This approach will be interesting in July and August when the temp here is 52c, no piece of metal or wire anywhere will be less than 52c during the day, and thats parked in the shade without the engine even started. Apparently from what I’ve read heat and dust are two of the worst things for EFI engines, we have plenty of both in Turkey lol.
